Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

The Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) Award is one of the world’s best-known and most respected achievement awards. Starting September 2016, HIC has started the renowned Duke of Edinburgh Award. The DofE was set up by Prince Phillip, the Duke of Edinburgh in 1956. It’s an award that encourages young people, from ages 14-24 years old, to go outside and experience life, while learning new skills, helping out others and improving their physical well-being.  It has 3 different levels of awards: Bronze, Silver and Gold.

HIC believes that offering the DofE award will make the college experience even more exciting for our students. HIC is now a registered centre for DofE awards.

With the start of the renowned DofE, the college has successfully engaged students for DofE Awards in the current academic year. Some students are aiming to obtain Gold awards from DofE. The students have completed the DofE induction and are ready to accept challenges and learn new skills.

For external students also, HIC plans to start DofE awards in the coming academic year 2017-18. The college will enrol external students for the DofE awards and will provide complete information about the Expeditions and Activities organised by DofE to achieve the awards. The college will also update the external students about other important updates, Do’s and Don’ts, calendar, etc on a regular basis.
